Kanchanara guggulu is a classical Ayurvedic formula traditionally used for swollen glands in the neck, and there is some supportive evidence for that use. It is also widely marketed today as a treatment for thyroid disease, but that claim is not supported by evidence and is not something the classical texts themselves actually say.

Ayurveda offers a reasonably supported traditional remedy for ordinary swollen neck glands. Modern medicine offers precise blood tests that can actually diagnose thyroid disease — something no herbal remedy, however good for lymph nodes, can substitute for.
