WHEN TO SEEK CARE
Anyone who is overweight or obese should have their waist circumference and BMI measured (using the lower thresholds appropriate for South Asian populations) and be screened for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, sleep apnoea, and fatty liver, since these are common, often silent, and treatable.
